FAQ’s

Q. How do I join?

Simply come down to the gym, bring a method of payment (cash, cheque, credit/debit card) and if joining on a monthly basis bring your bank sort code and account number and we will be able to set your membership up immediately. Membership prices are on this website here.

Q. How much do I pay to join?

Unless you are lucky enough to have a special promotional offer, or you take out an annual membership, you will pay a £20 joining fee to cover the cost of setting up your membership.

You will then need to pay advance payment of at least one month, as it takes this long to process your direct debit mandate.

We process direct debit runs every 1st and 15th of the month, so you will need to pay the pro-rata amount up to the date of your first direct debit payment. For instance; if you join on the 2nd of June, your direct debit would start on the 15th July, and you would pay for the 6 weeks up to the 15th July at the time of joining.

Q. Do I need to have an induction when I join?

Everyone completes a health screening questionnaire which takes less than 5 minutes to complete. Only those under 18 years of age will need to have a compulsory gym induction. Under 18s are expected to follow these programmes at all times, to prevent them from over training.

We would however, recommed you do have an induction, especially if you have not exercised in a while, as it helps us get to know you.

Q. Do I need to pay for an induction?

All adult monthly and annual members do not pay for their induction. Juniors and pay as you go members, or those with day passes need to pay £15 for an induction.

Q. What restrictions are in place for junior members?

Junior members need to vacate the gym at 6.15pm. Juniors need to be following a written training programme. This rule is to prevent juniors from overdoing things, or from doing exercises that are too advanced for their fitness/ strength. Parents can attend the inductions and sessions if they wish. Junior membership information and prices are here.

Q. How do I cancel my membership?

You will need to inform BWell either in person at the gym, by calling the gym on 01493 603430, or by writing to us at the club. You will need to give us 4 weeks notice of cancellation of membership. Please do not stop your direct debit with the bank in advance of the 4 weeks notice period without notifying us in advance, else you will be asked to continue paying your subscription. Details of this process are to be clearly found on your membership application form.

Q. What benefits do I get if I refer a friend?

For every friend you refer, your own monthly direct debit subscription will be reduced by £1 each month that the referred person pays their monthly subscription. This is done automatically by our membership system, and you can have more than one referral each month. In fact, the more people you refer, the more you can save. If you want to refer a friend, email us here with their telephone number and we will invite them down to the club for a free trial visit.

Q. Can I freeze my membership?

Yes you can freeze your membership for a maximum of 6 months. Your monthly fees drop to £5 per month, and will automatically increase again after the agreed timescale has elapsed.

Q. Can I pay for a new exercise programme?
